It is quite natural for couples to undergo a lot of stress planning and preparing for the special day. I know this from personal experience. I had to plan two vegan weddings (one western and one big indian) with very little help as my soon to be husband was in a different country. In midst of planning, we (especially the bride) try to make sure we are eating healthy and staying in shape. We are careful not to put on or lose too much weight. It can be stressful, especially since our wedding dress is often picked out 6-8 months before the big day.
Here is a one of my workout routines that has helped me to stay fit and toned pre and post the wedding:
FOR BEGINNERS:
- Slow paced 1km run/jogg or a 1km hill walk or 30mins run/jogg followed by:
- 10 reps of push ups
- 12 reps of sit ups
- 20 reps of mountain climbers (10 each leg)
- 20 reps of jumping jacks
Repeat this exercise in sets of 3 (3 times).
A good way to track your fitness level is to time yourself. The goal is to be able to reduce your time for each exercise within a certain period of time. However, do not push yourself too hard, go into crash dieting and fall sick before your big day.
Always set a realistic goal! Remember that fitness and staying healthy is a lifetime goal not just for one particular event.
