As well as the destination wedding, the same general questions still apply; Being local, you may not have the opportunities to be able to choose from mountains, beach or even snow, depending on where you are. Being that it is a wedding and celebration of love, most people will show up to celebrate your day. Simple things like including suggested accommodation for guests in your invitations, ringing the accommodation ahead of time to organize a deal for your guests is a suggestion too. It will give your guests that extra piece of mind, knowing they’re staying somewhere safe and reliable.
Having your special day local does also give you an advantage. You’re close enough to drive to venues, meet suppliers and discuss all the fine print one on one with all organizations involved in your wedding. Asking people you work with or your local social media platforms such as buy swap sell to ask for wedding venue recommendations is another lovely way to find hidden treasures locally. However, if you’ve just been in love with your neighbors beautiful garden for what feels like forever, why not ask them if the ceremony can be there?
Whether a destination or local wedding, the most important thing is that it is full of love and you are surrounded by the ones who love you.
