BY WEDDING PLANNERS TWO FAT LADIES
THE STORY – When Sharanya and Susheel came to us with the idea of having an eco-friendly, vegan wedding we were excited at the possibilities especially since we have always harped on the fact that a wedding should be a reflection of one’s ethics and beliefs.
To be honest, it was one of the most challenging weddings we have planned to say the least. We had to come out of our comfort zone and approach new vendors and places for even the smallest of things. The credit goes to the bride Sharanya whose passion on the matter was the driving force, and we have to acknowledge the groom Susheel – who in spite of not being a vegan himself patiently supported his fiancée and stood by every decision of hers.
The guests loved this wedding for its down-to-earth organic feel; involvement by family and friends and so many of those magical moments, the most special of which was the couple exchanging their vows against the setting sun, in a non-ritual affair.
Achieving the results was not an easy task. There was an immense struggle and micromanagement. Vendors like the decorators, florists, the chefs had to be convinced to come out of their comfort zones and deliver us something out of the ordinary. Food was the most important part of the affair with us going through several tastings and discussions, introducing and sourcing vegan options to various dairy products to give the guests the same satisfaction they would enjoy in any other wedding. The Chefs had to put in a lot of effort, but in the end, they mentioned that the results were worth it.
The Vintage cum eco feel we are sure, will continue to inspire many weddings that we will do in the future.
This Wedding has rubbed off on us in many ways. Today we have become more conscious of wastage and eco-friendly practices which we share with our other clients who are often willing to accept such eco-friendly suggestions, be it avoiding wasting paper or using plastic material unnecessarily.
